The Coherence and Incoherence among the Order of Effusion, Physics, and Ancient Astronomy from the Perspective of Muslim Philosophers

The present article deals with coherence and incoherence among the theories of the order of effusion, physics and ancient astronomy. There is no coherence between these fields in the view of Plotinus who is the innovator of the theory of effusion, while there is a coherence and correlation among these orders in Farabi's philosophy. In this regard Ibn Sina, Ikhwan al-Safa , Shaykh al-Ishraq and Mulla Sadra followed Farabi's path. Though Ibn Sina viewed the order of effusion in threefold and fourfold. Ikhwan al-Safa presented two theories in this regard which is different from that of Farabi. Shaykh al-Ishraq and Mulla Sadra too criticized that of the Prepatetics and presented their own views. Abul Barakat Baghdadi and Tabatabai also while having different opinions opened a new front as against those who believed in coherence among those orders and advocated the incoherence among those orders.
