According to the verses of the Holy Quran, Abraham (A.S) did not recognize the angels when they came to him; therefore, similar to how he welcomed human guests, he served them grilled meat. On the other hand, some Shia scholars, relying on the arguments of nullification of the purpose and Trust, consider the prophets infallible from any error, even in ordinary matters. It is evident that there is an inconsistency between these two propositions. ‘Re-examining the perspectives of thinkers on the infallibility of prophets’ and ‘utilizing the story of Abraham’s (A.S.) hospitality in clarifying theological teachings’ highlight the necessity of investigating this inconsistency. Analytical investigation of this story showed first: this hospitality is a part of the normal life of Ibrahim (AS); Secondly: He had an "error in matching" due to not knowing the angels; Thirdly: This error did not lead to an ugly matter; Fourthly: that the evidence of this story regarding the occurrence of error is complete in terms of both the chain of narration and the interpretation; fifth: Fifth: the viewpoint of the mentioned scientists needs adjustment; because the occurrence of this error during the time of Abraham (A.S) and its mention in the Quran indicates that such errors do not only negate God’s purpose for the mission of the prophets and do not undermine people’s trust, but also provide educational aspects for Abraham (A.S), the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), and Muslims.
