Structuralism and Ibn Arabi's Theory of Haqq-i Mutaqad

The structuralists are of the view that all mystical experiences are formed under the influence of mental backgrounds of the gnostic including their ideological backgrounds. A study of Ibn Arabi's theory of haqq-i mutaqad will lead us to conclude that in his view the intuition of the truth in preliminary level can be under the influence of ideological backgrounds and formed in their pattern. In these cases the epistemological model of structuralism for the explanation of these experiences will be useful and effective. But according to this theory final mystical experiences such as annihilation and subsistence and after annihilation cannot be contained in this rule. A perfect gnostic can observe the truth intuitively beyond particular ideological and mental patterns. Moreover, in the theory of haqq-i mutaqad it is possible to observe the truth at each level unlike ideological expectations, whereas in the theory of structuralism no mystical experience can precede ideological patterns. Therefore, epistemic model of structuralism in Ibn Arabi's view is unable to explain final mystical experiences.
